Dynamic Herb Cebu finally got back on top in the 2024 PFL Season as it heads down the stretch, putting four goals past a hapless Philippine Army side last Saturday night in Talisay.

The Gentle Giants extended their winning streak to eight in yet another masterful display at Borromeo Stadium, with the Troopers standing no chance against the firepower of the Whale Sharks. Cebu is now two points clear of champions Kaya-Iloilo at the top of the table.

Left winger Zamoranho continued his stellar debut season in the country, notching his second hat-trick of the season to push him beyond double digits with eleven goals, making him the club’s leading scorer.

From his usual tight spot on the left wing, the Surinamese opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, brushing aside Chy Villaseñor with relative ease before slotting home a left-footed effort past Army keeper John Kent Delariarte.

However, Zamoranho was not done dazzling on the pitch, as he doubled Cebu’s lead in first-half stoppage time with one of the goal-of-the-year contenders, launching a right-footed rocket that left Delariarte with no chance of stopping it.

Cebu continued their dominance after the restart, and Guytho Mijland practically sealed their eleventh win in twelve matches in the 53rd minute, latching onto a Jeremiah Borlongan ball for a clinical finish with his right boot.

Thirteen minutes before full-time, Zamoranho completed his treble from the penalty spot after Devrim Ali Yanik was tripped in the box by Delariarte’s late challenge. The Gentle Giants now play the waiting game ahead of Kaya’s match with Stallion Laguna as the season winds down.
