Sunday’s rescheduled games kicked off today with the Taguig Derby, where One Taguig FC secured a 3-1 victory over Maharlika Taguig FC.

The match began with One Taguig displaying a patient, possession-based game. Notably, second-choice goalkeeper Lance Bencio started for One Taguig, while Shimomura and Schrock were absent. Maharlika’s first attempt came from a corner, with Abo heading the ball but failing to score.

One Taguig’s Hiraishi fired a shot that was punched away by Maharlika goalkeeper Mamadou Sene. Yannick Tuason then opened the scoring for One Taguig, assisted by El Habib. Just a minute later, Ingreso delivered a precise pass to Hiraishi, who crossed it to El Habib for One Taguig’s second goal.

Maharlika’s Gael Basana had an attempt, but it was saved by Bencio. Maharlika managed to pull one back when former USA youth player Lucas Del Rosario provided a beautiful assist to Frenchman Junior Mailly, who found the back of the net.

However, One Taguig quickly responded as El Habib scored his second goal of the match, capitalizing on a saved shot from Tuason. Maharlika’s Victor Nkoa received a yellow card for a foul on Mathew Custodio. The first half ended with One Taguig leading 3-1.

The second half was less eventful, with both teams playing more cautiously. Lucas Del Rosario’s direct free-kick attempt lacked power, and Gael Basana’s shot was thwarted by the solid defensive effort of Gallantes and Bencio.

Former ADT and U23 striker Andres Aldeguer made his debut for One Taguig. Both teams had a few more attempts, but none were successful.

The game concluded with a 3-1 victory for One Taguig FC as they climbed to 6th place in the table with 15 points, while Maharlika remained in 9th place with 9 points. One Taguig FC’s Captain Kevin Ingreso and left-back Yrick Gallantes will now head to Dubai for the PMNFT training camp.
