In the opening fixture of the final day of the Philippines Football League, One Taguig FC secured a commanding 6-1 victory over Tuloy FC at Rizal Memorial Stadium. This result saw One Taguig climb to 5th place, overtaking United City FC by one point, while Tuloy FC finished in 12th place.
One Taguig countered their opposition well. With the help of the Napindan Lighthouse, they were able to scout the Barcelona-like football style of the boys from Alabang. Tsukasa Shimomura opened the scoring in the 14th minute, his 21st of the season, assisted by Joshua Dutosme. Taher Jahanbakhsh extended the lead in the 20th minute, assisted by Naoto Hiraishi, and added another in the 27th minute, assisted by Yrick Gallantes.
In the 43rd minute, Gallantes scored, followed by Andres Aldeguer in the 45th minute, assisted again by Hiraishi. Jahanbakhsh completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute, assisted by fellow Iranian Milad Behgandom.
Substitutions began in the 68th minute with Jian Capistrano and Jasten Lupango being replaced by Joseph Gungab and Bryant Sidney. Andres Aldeguer made way for George Baker in the 69th minute. In the 80th minute, Tsukasa Shimomura and Mahmoud Ali were replaced by Izzeldin El Habib and Nicolas Ferrer. In the 82nd minute, Michael Jr. Antilo and Ariel Fabillar were substituted for Archie Pabelliar and Jhon Razel Aguila. Denmark Uracoy scored a late consolation for Tuloy FC in the 85th minute, assisted by Syron Saut.
On a side note, according to my sources, four members of Tuloy FC will be part of the final squad of the Philippine Men’s National U19 Football Team that will compete in the ASEAN U19 Championship in Indonesia a few days from now. Let’s support them and hope for the best. Laban!
