It was a stop and start affair (the livestream at least) from Campo Alcantara in Pavia, Iloilo province as KAYA-Iloilo FC drew first blood against Cebu FC in this year’s first Visayas Derby.
In a game marred by technical difficulties, the home team celebrated a first win in Iloilo province in over two years over the visiting Gentle Giants.
Kaya FC controlled majority of the game in both halves before Iloilo’s own Joven Bedic found an onrushing Robert Lopez Mendy and delivered a sweet ball that the veteran Senegalese buried past the DHC keeper to give the home team the win at the death.
Kaya-Iloilo FC has a chance to breakaway from the pack in their next game as they face Philippine Air Force FC this coming Wednesday in Pavia, Iloilo once again.
