The second game of the PFL’s matchweek 2 was supposed to be a momentous occasion for Loyola FC as they played their first home game after 7 long years out of the top flight of Philippine Football.
Stallion started the festivities through ball in the 31st minute as a through ball from Abraham Placito found an open Finn McDaniel. McDaniel’s cross, initially resembling a shot towards goal, seemed destined for the upright, but it fell at the feet of Mexican Juan Diego Trujillo, who slotted in his first of the evening.
Stallion’s wingers kept causing havoc for the right side of Loyola’s defense as Finn Mcdaniel doubled Stallion’s lead in the 36th minute to score his 2nd goal of the season after collecting a low cross from Jose Bezerra Dourado who beat Marco Cauyong to serve it on a platter for the PMNFT Forward.
Things weren’t any better for Loyola in the 2nd half as a long kick from Stallion keeper Alfred Cortez found a wide-open Trujillo in the 49th minute for the Mexican’s 2nd goal of the game and his 3rd of the campaign.
Substitute Junior Sam picked up where he left off from Stallion’s first game as he scored the first of his 2 late goals in the 77th minute after some lackadaisical defending in Loyola’s box to make it 4-0.
Sam put on the finishing blow in the 83rd minute latching on a through ball from Jo Bedia to score his 2nd of the game and 4th of the campaign to make it 5-0 for Stallion Laguna.
Stallion Laguna dominated throughout the evening producing 92 dangerous attacking plays against Loyola’s 33.
Up next for Stallion Laguna will be Manila Montet on the 21st of April while Loyola will face Garelli United on the 27th.
