Loyola Futbol Club never missed a chance to get back on track as it pummeled Manila Montet without any reply, opening the Saturday double-headers at the Rizal Memorial.
The returning league pioneers showed no mercy to the debuting doormats as they picked up their second win in their return to the top flight with a masterclass by the duo of William Wynter and Jorrel Aristorenas, each hitting a brace.
Wynter put the former Cup winners ahead in the 19th minute, with Jayvee Kallukaran doubling their lead five minutes later.
However, an eight-minute stretch towards the end of the first half swung the match in Loyola’s favor as Wynter completed his double in the 40th minute, with Rupert Baña then adding a fourth for the men in white as the returning Charlie Beaton opened his second Loyola account deep into the first half stoppage time, going five goals to the good heading into the break.
Another long stretch occurred in the middle part of the second half, where the returning Aristorenas hiked his season tally to three with a double of his own, which was sandwiched by the 73rd-minute effort by substitute Boris Kante.
